About Our Club

Back in 2020, when the covid pandemic had closed woodturning clubs around the world, Martin Saban-Smith decided to start a new club, based online in the Zoom environment meeting twice a month for an affordable fee.

Hosting a monthly demonstration from a professional turner based somewhere in the world, and a second meeting to relax and chat, the idea of Woodturning360 was born.

Since then, club members have enjoyed over 100 demonstrations and meetings on Zoom and has professional and hobby members from the UK (including Northern Ireland, Channel Islands, Scotland and Wales), Ireland, Denmark, Norway, Germany, France, Switzerland, the USA and Canada.

Our Logo and its Meaning

  • Tree and Bowl

The bottom of the logo represents the bowls we turn from the material we use. It is a wooden bowl similar in shape to the branches of a tree and proportioned for what it carries

  • Leaves and Circle

    Leaves and Circle

This represents a canopy of leaves. Being a circle, it encompasses everything within it.
Behind it is a blue haze - the sky.

  • Club Name

The cheerful yellow in the club name represents the sun which reflects the bright, positive outlook of our club.
